DIY Feather Cuff Blouse

As you may have seen in my previous blog post, I am absolutely obsessed with the feather trend for spring. I think the subtle hint of feathers on an outfit is so glam and chic. Although this new trend has not hit the major stores yet, I wanted to do a little DIY and make myself a feather cuff blouse. I actually saw a very similar top at Anne Taylor for $150 and that’s the SALE PRICE! I made my top for under $20!
The feather cuff blouse can be worn with jeans and sneakers for a casual look, or dressed up with a pretty satin skirt and heels. Here are some inspiration I found from Pinterest:

Creating your own feather cuffed blouse allows you to remove the feathers at any time and you can wear the top as is! From my Pinterst inspo, you see that the feathers can be placed on any style of top from long sleeve wrap blouse to a mesh quarter sleeve!

I purchased the blouse from Shein, linked here and the feather pieces from Aliexpress, which can easily be found at any craft store. Although this DIY can be done on any blouse. Here is a step by step explaining what I did:

1. I ordered 2 Meters of the feather trim. I began by wrapping the feathers around the sleeve and kept a bit extra (always better to have more materials then less). Then I cut 3 pieces the same length.
2. Then I sewed the three pieces together by attaching them from bottom of first layer to the top of the second layer. Then sewing the top of the third layer to the bottom of the middle layer.
3.Then you take the three layers and flip it over (so you see the feather side not the ribbon side) and sew it to the top of the sleeve. You can also sew it on the inside to have the feathers come out of the sleeve rather than on the sleeve.
4. Once you’re all done, do the same with the other side! Here is the final look!
I am absolutely in love with how the blouse turned out and on the hunt to add feather cuffs to everything else I own haha. During one of my Fashion Friday Segments I tried on the blouse and showed you different ways you can style it! Here is the video for that:

Are you into the feather trend for spring or are you skipping this one? Let me know below!

Always Remember: It’s not about brand, it’s about style!
