June Inspiration

Its been  a while since I have written a blog post, but I’mmmmmm back! I recently started Gossip Girl and have become obsessed!! How did I not watch this show during my youth?  I feel like I totally missed the boat on that one!
With school coming to an end soon, I’m ready to get into the summer gear and put all my focus on the blog! Let me know if there is anything specific you would like to see on here.

Now, let’s get down to June favourites! After going to Cuba and NYC recently, I’m realizing more and more how versatile one piece bathing suits can be for any type of vacation. I wore my one piece with pants to a club at NYC and wore it with shorts to hang out at the resort.  I have listed 4 of my favourites and I own the first ruffle one. I also styled that one with a maxi skirt and it is oh-sooo pretty!

Retro sunnies are all the rage right now and I’m definitely not mad about those pretty cat eyes, however I’m not loving the small frames as I find them more of a fad than a staple. I have linked my favourites below!

Now let’s get to earrings, they perfect accessory to complement any outfit! Whether you’re wearing a tee and shorts or a pretty little summer dress, adding earrings will complete your outfit! Here are some statement earrings I’m currently loving.

Straw bags are taking over Instagram and the fashion world, so I knew I had to include them in my list. They give off retro Miami vibes and perfect for summer nights.

&& at last, pretty little slides. I have to say, although most of them are not comfortable walking shoes, they are easy to wear and match with any outfit. I especially love the ones that have a bit of a statement look to them. It takes the simple tee an shorts outfit from casual to chic.

There it is.. my list of favourites for June! What are you obsessing over this month?

Viviscal Gorgeous Growth

It’s no secret I’m obsessed with voluminous hair and with my Persian background, I’ve got lots of hair to give me the luscious curls I always dream of. Howeverrrr in order to get my hair looking full at the top, I have to use hair spray, dry shampoo and texturizing spray. My hair tends to stick to my scalp and needs a lot of teasing to make it look full.

I’m always searching to finding a shampoo that would help lift my hair and allow my natural hair to look fuller. I recently got the opportunity to try the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth as a PR gift from The Publicist Group and ended up loving it! I have to say I’m usually very skeptical about trying beauty items that promise “fuller” anything! But this shampoo and conditioner definitely did not fail me.
The first week I started noticing how my hair is light and fluffy without any extra products. Following that, I was noticing more hair in the areas where I was losing hair (due to too much hairspray and such). After 4 weeks it has become part of my weekly routine. I also really like how the conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down but still does the job of making my hair smooth and soft. I even got my mom to try it out as she has very fine hair. I will update this post in about a month from her reviews and what she thinks of it! Below are the links to shop the shampoo and conditioner.

Tweed Jacket

My love for tweed jackets are so real right now that I had to do a proper blog post, instead of a Fashion Friday segment. They are the perfect statement jacket to dress up any outfit(bonus: they even keep you warm! Haha).
I love how they look city-chic with a pony tail and jeans, and dressed up with a fitted dress. Either way, I would look into purchasing a tweed jacket as a staple item for years to come. They will continue to be a classic piece since they give off the Chanel-esque vibe and lets be honest… anything Chanel is always a classic.
Although mine has more of a layered look, I would suggest buying one that has a straight cut for a classic look. Also, don’t be afraid of investing in one that has some spring colours in it(used it as your “pop of colour”)!
Here are some ways you can style it:
1.T shirt and jeans, even a graphic tee will look cute with it!
2.
Fitted dress
3.
Wide leg pants and fitted top/crop top
I’ve also linked a couple of affordable tweed jackets for you below. My favourite has to be the last one from Forever 21. I love that it has some spring colours and it is straight cut, perfecting for layering!

However you decide to style it, make sure you wear a fitted top as the tweed is a bit of a heavier material.

April Inspiration

 April Inspiration

Although the weather in Toronto hasn’t been very “spring” like, my wardrobe begs to differ. I actually started putting my sweaters away because I refuse to give into mother nature, haha.

This month I’m all about the retro-Miami-vintage fashion! I started watching Mad Men again and have become obsessed with the all the outfits (can we go back to dressing like the 1950’s?). Below are some pictures from Pinterest that I’ve found inspiration from.

IMG_4946

Although these pictures are stunning, it’s hard to dress like that on a daily basis. Sooo, I’m showing you how to bring the retro vibes into your every day style! These items are perfect for spring and summer; especially at the beach or a European vacation. I will go through each item and link some similar ones (click on the pictures for the direct link).

Boater Hat
I’ve been on a hunt for a boater hat since last year. I ordered one from ASOS and found it to be too big so I ended up cutting around the edges but I still didn’t love it. I found this one from Marshalls! Since I can’t link my exact one, here are some similar ones:

Floral Headband
This floral headband is so chic and its giving me all the retro vibes. It’s perfect for the beach or an everyday style (mix it in with a messy braid and you’re set!). You can even use a scarf as a headband. I will be doing a blog post on how you can use your headband different ways, so stay tuned for that. Here are some headbands I’m loving:

Retro Sunglasses

If anything screams retro, it has to be these sunglasses. Adding a pair of retro sunglasses to any outfit instantly gives you a vintage vibe. I’m thinking of purchasing a white and red one as well! These are some of my favorites:

Hair Accessories
I tried really hard not to fall for the scrunchie fad but I couldn’t help but notice how it doesn’t dent my hair. It also looks so cute with a messy bun! (Let’s be real, the 10 year old me is screaming on the inside…hahah). I’m also loving other detailed hair accessory like pretty headbands or bows for spring, especially when you do a messy braid!

 Earrings
When you’re going for that retro vibe pick out a bold-bright-statement earrings to complete your look.  If these earrings don’t scream vintage fashion then I don’t know what does! Can you believe those are from Ardene? I loveeee the pearl details and can’t wait to wear these on the beach or a warm summer night out.  Here are some earrings I’m loving:

Straw/Plastic Bags
Another way to bring in the vintage look is through a straw or plastic hand bag. My grandmother actually brought back a similar plastic bag for my mom when she was travelling around Europe! (Fashion really doesss go through a cycle!). I also love any straw bag I can get my hands on as they are so perfect for day time or night time. They also add a chic Miami vibe to any outfit. I couldn’t find any affordable plastic bags but here are some straw bags:

Linen Shirt
How can we talk about vintage fashion without a stripped shirt? Such an iconic look to have it tied on top of a one piece bathing suit! HM has so many affordable ones and in many different colours, I’ve linked some here:

There it is, all the items to help you bring that retro vibe into your every day style!

Graphic Tshirt

Here comes my long awaited blog post about graphic t-shirts. I love graphic tees because they add a twist to a staple t-shirt. Also I like that there are a variety of them from sequin details to a simple cursive writing of words like “kindness”. So whatever your style, there is a graphic tee out there for you!  Let’s not forget all the different ways you can style it, from casual to more dressy.

Here are some of my current favourite graphic tees. You can click on the picture and it will direct you to the exact item! Down below I will explain the different ways to style your tee.

How to Style Your T-shirt

1.SkirtFind a skirt, any skirt and tuck in your t shirt for a casual-chic look.

2.Jeans && HeelsI know this is an obvious one, but throw on a pair of heels and you’re instantly dressed up!

3.Layer It Under a BlazerThis has to be one of my favourite way to style it! I love a graphic tee under a blazer; it’s the perfect city chic look!

4.Dress PantsYou may think this sounds silly, but pairing the two makes for a great combo because it is so unexpected! Also, I know my tee isn’t really graphic but even a detailed one will do!

What are other ways you like to style your graphic t-shirt? Comment below and let me know!

March Inspiration

This month I’m all about transitioning into spring, even though it may still be cold (spring forward says otherwise). I find that it has been harder than usual for me to keep motivated so I got myself a fancy planner. And this month’s motto has to be, “Believe In Your Dreams” as I continue to juggle working life and blog life with a side of social activities with friends, and spending time with my boyfriend.

I’m inspired by earth tones and neutrals especially after I purchased my trench coat (linked here). You can see a sneak peek of it on the corner.  Those colours are perfect for transitional pieces that can be taken from winter to spring.

I also booked a vacation for my birthday in May, so I’m starting to get all the vacation feels with those statement earrings and the sunglasses. My go to place for sunglasses has to Marshalls as they are affordable and I won’t get upset if I lose them (which I usually do).

I recent purchased an illustration from Holly Nichols as I am obsessed with her drawings. I have linked the one I bought here and she has so many other amazing pieces that will be the perfect touch to any decoration.

What’s your inspiration for this month?

February Inspiration

For this month I wanted to keep it short and sweet (like meeeeee! Hahah). As I continue to struggle to keep up with my healthy habits, I want to change my focus on “doing everything with LOVE”. As I want to start thinking more positively (e.g. “YAY I went to the gym 3 times this” week versus “I went to the gym ONLY 3 times this week, it should’ve been 5”). This way of thinking takes time and effort, as I have to shift the way I talk to myself.  So that why I chose that quote for this month!

As for fashion inspiration: details, details, details!

I find myself gearing towards blouses, tops and jeans that have little details like embellishment, or pearls. Those jeans actually belong to my mother, but I have linked a similar pair of jeans here.

I am not a fan of Valentine’s Day as I think we should celebrate love with one another on a daily basis, however I’m all about pretty lace details. So this month buy yourself a pretty little bralette and wear it with your baggy sweaters. I love wearing something sexy when no one knows, it makes me feel good!

Since life got busy, I wasn’t able to create a post about graphic tees, so here is my second promise that it will be coming soon!

I would love to hear what your inspirations are for this month. Comment below and let me know!

Winter Boots

I purchased a pair of American Eagle winter boots during their Black Friday and I have to say I am happier than ever. I love my Sorelles, but like many other people I find them too clunky. These boots are light but still have the rubber part at the bottom to keep my feet dry.  However, wearing winter boots is not always stylish and makes me feel like a snowman haha.

So I decided to share some tips on how you can make winter boots look stylish and still keep warm! I’ve created 5 different looks focusing on a style tip for each.

1. Structured Jacket Instead of wearing your usual winter jacket, pair your boots with a straight cut jacket. Be sure to pick one that has also has a pattern for a more stylish look!

2. Faux Fur Wearing a faux fur jacket will make any outfit look and feel more luxurious. You can also substitute it with a teddy bear coat.

3.Vest I decided on a fur vest, but any vest will do, when paired with a chunky knit. Throw on a hat with pompoms and you’re good to go.

4. Puffer Jacket I love puffer jackets for fall and spring, but why not wear them in the winter time! Although you may need to layer up, wearing them with those boots will keep you warm.

5. Fun Scarf, Hat and/or Socks

Either pick one or do them all! Add a hat and scarf that have some colour (pink, dark green, dark blue) and cozy socks and you are ready to go!

How do you keep stylish and warm? Let me know in the comments below!

January Inspiration 2018

I am beyond excited to finally share the new part of my blog:
Monthly Inspiration!
At the beginning of each month, I will create a board showing all the things I am currently loving and inspired by. I wanted to add this to my blog to show you what’s really going on inside my head. The board will be a reflection of the outfits I choose to share on Instagram, my blog posts and videos!

Here is this month’s list:

1.BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS
This has to be number one on my list. I am ALL ABOUT GOAL SETTING and it’s in caps because I live for that. I write down my goals all over my room so I keep focus and I am constantly reminded of them. I also try and listen to self improve audio books at least once every 2 months. I love how they make me feel so empowered and ready to take on my goals!

2. Red, Red and more RED
Yes, I know the holidays are over but I still love my red nails and red lipstick. There is something so sexy about red nails. It makes me feel strong, powerful, ambitious and ready to take on the world (currently looking at my nails as I’m trying this haha).

3. Graphic Tees
I love a pretty graphic tee, especially with jeans. It makes the casual t-shirt and jeans look more glamorous! I will be creating a blog post on my favourite graphic tees later on this month.

4. Hair Accessories
I recently started following Kristin Ess, and I love the way she styles any kind of hair. I also took note of her pretty hair pins and I’ve become obsessed myself. I’ll be doing a video showing my favourite looks from her!

5. Dainty Gold Jewelry
I love anything gold and even more when they are dainty and pretty. Gold goes best with my skin tone and especially during the winter months it gives me the warmth, summer look I love.

6. Texture, Texture, Texture
When putting outfits together I always try to mix in different textures for a luxurious look, even if it’s a casual outfit. So it’s no secret I’m crushing on metallic, velvet and knits.

7. Pinks and Grey
As always, my go to colours are pink and grey, however starting this month and into 2018 I will bring in more colour into my blog since “life is full of colours”!

What has been inspiring you guys this month? Let me know in the comments below!

Gifts That Give Back

Last year I decided to create a gift guide for items that gives back. I personally love a thoughtful gift and one that continues to give back. It makes gift giving that much more special. Although some items may seem more expensive, think about the proceeds that will go towards a charity or a cause. I’ve linked the list I made last year here.

I’ve created a new list with the items that I’m currently loving:

1. The Giving Keys

If you’re not familiar with The Giving Keys you are in for a treat! They have a variety of styles and metal colours. Each key comes with a message (you can even create your own!) hand crafted by a person who is homeless. Through the cause, they are able to use the money towards college classes or other training programs to further build their life!

2. BootayBagThis is a subscription that’s perfect for any girl because lets be real who doesn’t love new undies every month? You can also pick the type (full, thong or mix!) and you’re good to go. For $12 a month you get 2 undies! Also, with every hashtag  #undermatters BootayBag will donate a $1 to Melanoma Foundation.

3.ME to We

This one touches close to my heart. The items from Me To We help people in third world countries build stable and thriving communities to help them support themselves. I personally LOVE their dainty bracelets. They even have gifts for guys and stocking stuffers.

4.Aldo Shoes

Yaaaaas!! Cute running shoes AND they give back! The net proceeds of the Aldo Mx sneakers will help those most at risk get access to education.

5. Diff Eye Wear

Not only are they affordable sunglasses, but with every purchase of sunglasses, Diff Eye Wear will donate one pair of reading glasses to those in need. They also have a variety of styles to choose from!

There you have it…my top 5 gift ideas that are not only thoughtful, but also give back to those in need!

Always Remember: It’s not about brand, it’s about how you style it!
